Zinc deficiency can lead to nutritional imbalance, slow growth, low immunity and even mental retardation in severe cases. Therefore, parents should pay high attention to it. Why babies are prone to zinc deficiency in summer?         1. Because of zinc is consumed during the growth and development of the baby. If the body doesn’t store enough, coupled with the lack of appetite in summer, then the intake of zinc from the diet will be reduced, eventually causing a large deficiency of zinc.         2. Babies are prone to sweating in summer and zinc is excreted with sweat and urine.         3. Summer is the high incidence of intestinal diseases. If your baby is infected with a disease which will easily have diarrhea, and it will also cause the loss of zinc. What are the symptoms of zinc deficiency in babies?         1. Heterophagia, anorexia, partiality, picky eating, no sense of hunger, do not take the initiative to eat.         2. Prone to mouth ulcers, long map tongue.         3. Slow growth, short stature, thin.         4. Lower immunity, easy to catch cold, diarrhea.         5. Low intellectual development. How to supplement zinc for babies?         1. Babies supplement zinc from foods with high zinc content, such as lean meat, animal liver, egg yolk, seafood, etc. And vegetarian babies need to strengthen the intake of animal food, otherwise babies are prone to insufficient zinc intake.         2. Parents can choose some baby zinc supplements by baby stores, which quicker and more effective. But you need to specify the daily intake to avoid your baby eating them as sugar.

Parents’ Fondle Makes A Smarter Baby

When green hand parents embark on the road of parenting, they often feel overwhelmed by how to raise a newborn. In fact, baby’s intellectual development can be improved by a few daily behaviors. 1. Touch Baby’s Feet The baby’s metabolism is strong, and the capillaries and peripheral nerves of foot skin are abundant. Therefore, massage is conducive to enhancing the peripheral circulation of the limbs, promoting the blood circulation of the foot and the whole body, which is beneficial to growth and development, disease resistance and cold tolerance. Tips: Hold baby’s leg and roll them up and down, rubbing the ankles and soles of baby’s feet at the same time. 2. Touch Baby’s Hands Touching fingers can stimulate the baby’s perception ability. At the same time, the coordination ability and grasping ability of babies can also be exercised. Tips: Hold the baby’s small arms with both hands and start rolling them up and down, and gently flick the baby's wrists and small hands. Under the premise of ensuring that baby’s hands will not injured, massage with the thumb from the palm to the fingers. Be careful not to put pressure on the joints. 3. Touch Baby’s Tummy As babies lack a sense of security, frequent stroking of their little tummies will make them feel comfortable, thus helping them to sleep well. Daily physical communication with the baby in this way also helps to enhance the parent-child relationship and can effectively reduce the baby’s crying. Tips: The index and middle fingers move in turn from the baby’s lower right abdomen to the upper abdomen to the lower left abdomen, drawing a semicircle in a clockwise direction. Be careful to avoid the umbilicus of the newborn. 4. Touch Baby’s Back Regularly stroking your child's back can speed up blood circulation and allow for better qi and blood flow, which has a calming effect and helps your baby fall asleep as soon as possible, while also promoting spinal development. Tips: Massage from the back of baby’s neck toward the lumbosacral area with two hands. Then gently massage the muscles on both sides of the spine with  fingertips from the neck to the lumbosacral area again. To sum up, parents should pay more attention to the baby’s reaction when touching them, and choose the right force and technique to massage.
AIWIBI Promotion News in UAE - Healthy Living Habits to Improve Babies' Immunity

Healthy Living Habits to Improve Babies' Immunity

Nowadays, many parents give their children expensive health care products or antibiotics in order to improve their children’s immunity. However, the healthiest way is to cultivate their children’s good living habits to improve their immunity. 1. Balance the Nutrition         If parents want to enhance their baby’s immunity, pay attention not to give your baby refined processed food that are high in oil and sugar. Parents can prepare more natural foods and vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins and minerals for babies. When adding non-staple food after the baby is 4 months old, the first thing to try is rice flour and wheat flour. After weaning, the alternative food is also cereals. Whole grains are rich in germ and polysaccharides, vitamins B and E. These antioxidants can enhance immunity and strengthen the function of immune cells. 2. Drink More Water         Drinking more water can keep the mucous membrane moist and build an important defense line against bacteria. Remember to bring a water bottle when taking the babies outdoors, so that they can drink whenever they are thirsty. Be sure to give your baby boiled water, and a variety of sugary drinks are not advisable. 3. Take More Exercise         Children who like sports tend to be in good health and have strong resistance. In fact, children’s sports habits can be cultivated from an early age, and sports can be penetrated into every detail of life. Before the baby learns to walk, parents should clean up a safe environment and encourage the child to lie down and climb more. After the baby learns to walk, parents can allow the baby to walk and run as much as possible. On weekends, take your children to parks with fresh air and beautiful environment nearby. Let children understand that exercise is as important as eating and sleeping. 4. Get Regular Test         Parents had better record the baby’s daily milk drinking and sleeping time from the day the baby was born, and strive to cultivate a regular daily routine as the baby grows up day by day. 5. Have Good Hygiene         Parents should pay attention to training their children to form good hygiene habits, especially before and after meals, they should let their children wash their hands to prevent diseases from entering from the mouth. 6. Massage the Skin         Massage causes a series of benign reactions of the nervous, endocrine and immune systems of the whole body through mild stimulation of skin senses, which can promote the secretion of gastrointestinal hormones, help to increase the baby’s food intake, promote food digestion, absorption and excretion, and accelerate weight growth. At the same time, the massage can also activate the baby’s whole body muscles to make the body grow stronger. In addition, skin irritation has a direct and indirect impact on enhancing the immunity of babies, which is beneficial to the healthy physical and mental development of newborns.
AIWIBI Promotion News - Tips for Diet of Babies in Hot Summer

Tips for Diet of Babies in Hot Summer

1. Pay attention to replenish soup in summer         In summer, water loss is relatively fast, and sodium, potassium and other minerals will be discharged with sweat, so children should supplement more soup in summer. When supplementing water, it is recommended that children eat more fruits, or supplement with soup, and eat a small number of meals. However, parents should not let babies drink too much boiled water, because excessive water may cause water poisoning. 2. Summer parenting needs protein         Children’s physical development is fast, and protein is essential. In the high temperature environment, the loss of protein becomes larger and the decomposition becomes faster, so it is easy for babies to have insufficient protein intake in summer. Mothers should pay attention to supplement protein with milk, eggs, soy products and meat. It is recommended to ensure an appropriate daily intake of milk and eggs. 3. Eat more fruits and grains to supplement vitamins         There are more vitamins in coarse grains, and vitamin C, B1 and B2 are the most lost in perspiration. Parents can let babies eat more fruits, coarse grains, and vegetables and fruits to supplement vitamin C, Vitamin B1 and vitamin B2, which are necessary for babies’ healthy growth. 4. Beware of spoiled food         Summer food is easy to rot, so the remaining food should be immediately put into the refrigerator. Besides, parents should try to control the amount of cooking as much as possible, so that children can eat fresh vegetables for every meal. Pay attention to cook the food for a second time, because the refrigerator will also produce harmful bacteria, only after thoroughly heated can play a bactericidal effect, otherwise will cause food poisoning, thus leading to gastrointestinal dysfunction of children.  In order to kill bacteria in refrigerated food, the food should be heated to above 75 °C before eating the next day ( the broth must be boiled for 3 minutes ). 5. Be careful of cold drinks         Young babies’ greed for cold drinks will have a bad effect on their delicate gastrointestinal, which will make the oral cavity, gastric mucosa vasoconstriction, affecting the local blood supply and gastric juice secretion, causing abdominal pain, diarrhea and loss of appetite and other symptoms. Therefore, parents should pay attention to allowing children to eat an appropriate amount of cold drinks, so as not to cause digestive disorders and nutritional disorders in children.
Prevention and Control of the Flu in Babies

Prevention and Control of the Flu in Babies

1. What is the flu?         Flu is short for influenza, which is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by influenza viruses. Influenza A and B viruses are the main causes of human infection and seasonal epidemics. The antigenicity of influenza viruses is variable and spreads rapidly. 2.  How does the flu spread?         Influenza patients and latent infections are the main source of seasonal influenza infection. Influenza is transmitted mainly through droplet, but also through direct or indirect contact with mucous membranes such as the oral, nasal cavity and eyes. Clusters of epidemics are more likely to occur in crowded places.      3. What are the symptoms of the flu?         Sudden onset, with symptoms such as high fever, body pain, fatigue, bronchial inflammation, but the respiratory symptoms are mild. When babies have the flu, they have a decreased or no appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. They have a poor mental state and no energy to play. 4. How to prevent the flu?           (1) Influenza vaccination. It is the most effective way to prevent influenza and can significantly reduce the risk of influenza and serious complications.         (2) Frequent hand washing. It is one of the simplest and most important measures to prevent the spread of influenza. Wash your hands immediately after returning home, after touching public goods, after sneezing or blowing your nose, before and after touching your mouth, nose and eyes, before eating and after using the toilet.         (3) Wear a mask. Influenza patients are the most important source of infection. If someone in your home is infected with influenza, it is recommended to isolate as much as possible, especially to reduce contact with children and the elderly. When contact is necessary, you can wear a mask to reduce the risk of infection. 5. What should we do if we got the flu?           (1) Go to the hospital promptly .Patients and their accompanying staff should wear masks to avoid cross infection.         (2) Avoid going outside. Try to avoid going to public places as much as possible and avoid close contact with people around you. Wear a mask if you really need to go out. Cover your mouth and nose with a handkerchief or tissue when sneezing or coughing to reduce the spread of disease.         (3) Keep self-isolation and protection. After flu symptoms appear, pay attention to self isolation, open windows for ventilation, cover your mouth and nose with tissues when coughing and sneezing, and wash your hands often with soapy water and hand sanitizer, and disinfect items contaminated by flu virus in time.

Food that Women Should Not Eat During Pregnancy Preparation

Food that Women Should Not Eat During Pregnancy Preparation

1. Raw Food Raw foods, such as Japanese Sashimi, raw beef, medium rare steak and so on, should be avoided before and during pregnancy.Although fruits and vegetables can be eaten raw, they need to be washed thoroughly to reduce pesticide residues and pathogen contamination. 2. Pickled Food The sodium content of pickled foods is so high that excessive intake is not conducive to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health, but also the risk of hypertension-like diseases during pregnancy. Pickles, salted fish, bacon all contain high nitrite and benzopyrene and other harmful substances. Therefore, the intake should be controlled and not eaten as much as possible. 3. Canned Food Although the loss of protein and minerals in canned food is relatively less, there is a partial loss of vitamin C and vitamin B. Women during pregnancy preparation should not rely on canned food for a long time, but try to eat fresh vegetables, fruits and meat. 4. Coffee Women during pregnancy preparation should drink coffee moderately with limited amounts, and the daily caffeine intake should not exceed 200 mg. Since high caffeine intake during pregnancy may increase the risk of miscarriage, low birth weight, premature delivery and so on, it is necessary to avoid freshly brewed espresso coffee and high-caffeine energy drinks once pregnancy is confirmed. 5. Tea A cup of tea contains about 40 to 50mg of caffeine, which can be drunk normally. However, it should be noted that some pregnant women who are addicted to tea should avoid chewing tea, because the tannin in tea can affect the absorption of iron.
Tips for Babies Using Air Conditioner

Tips for Babies Using Air Conditioner

Some people think that babies who use air conditioner will suffer from facial paralysis and air-conditioning disease. In fact, there is no scientific basis for this viewpoint. The so-called “facial paralysis” is mostly caused by virus infection, such as otitis media, and is not caused by local cold or air conditioning. As long as the use method is appropriate, the baby can also enjoy the air conditioner. In fact, it is not difficult for the baby to use the air conditioner without getting sick. There are some tips may be helpful. 1. Moisturize and Maintain Air Circulation If the air conditioner is used in an enclosed space for a long time, the air will be dry, the oxygen concentration will be reduced, and the virus will breed too fast. At this time, parents should open half a window in the air-conditioned room to keep the air flowing. If the humidity drops below 40%, a humidifier can be used. 2. Set Appropriate Temperature of the Air Conditioner The temperature of the air-conditioned room is recommended to be kept between 25℃ and 28 ℃. If the baby feels hot, it can be adjusted according to the actual situation. No matter how much the temperature is set, do not let the wind blow at the baby directly. 3. Wear Moderate Clothes for the Baby When sleeping at night, feel the temperature behind the baby’s neck with your hands. If it feels warm, there is no need to wear too many clothes for the baby. 4. Pay Attention to the Temperature D ifference when entering and leaving the air conditioning room with the baby, in addition to not setting the temperature too low, parents can also open the doors and windows to maintain a certain convection, giving the baby a little time to adapt to the temperature change. 5. Dry the Baby After S weating Sometimes the baby is sweating profusely and feels uncomfortable when entering the air-conditioned room. Before entering the air-conditioned room, parents should let the baby keep sweating for a while and then change into dry clothes.
International Children’s Day

International Children’s Day

International Children’s Day (also known as Children’s Day) is celebrated on June 1 every year, with the purpose to commemorate all the children who were killed in the Lidice Massacre of June 10, 1942 and in the war around the world, so as to fight against the killing and poisoning of children and safeguard their rights.         In August 1925, the concept of International Children’s Day was first put forward at the International Conference on the Welfare of Children held in Geneva, Switzerland. At this conference, child-friendly representatives from 54 countries gathered in Geneva, Switzerland, for the International Conference on the Welfare of Children, which adopted the Geneva Declaration on Safeguarding Children. In the declaration, discussions have been carried out on the spiritual enjoyment of children, the relief of poor children, the avoidance of dangerous work for children, the access of children to livelihood opportunities, and how to save and raise children.          Although the conference has proposed the concept of “International Children’s Day”, it did not stipulate the specific date of Children’s Day. Therefore, since the conference, governments of various countries have successively set their own “Children’s Day”, but the date is different in varied countries.         In November 1949, the Women International Democratic Federation held a council meeting in Moscow, where representatives of China and other countries angrily exposed the crimes of imperialists and reactionaries in various countries who brutalized and poisoned children. The meeting decided to designate June 1 of each year as International Children’s Day. It is celebrated to guarantee the right to survival, health care, education and custody of children in all countries of the world, so as to improve the well-being of children, and to oppose child abuse and poisoning of children. Therefore, many countries around the world have designated June 1 as Children’s Day.
World No Tobacco Day 2022

World No Tobacco Day 2022

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the theme of its global campaign for World No Tobacco Day 2022 is “Poisoning Our Planet #Tobacco Exposed”. The campaign aims to raise public awareness of the environmental impact of tobacco cultivation, production, distribution and waste. This will give tobacco users an additional reason to quit. The campaign will also expose the tobacco industry’s efforts to “green-wash” its reputation and products by promoting itself as environmentally friendly. The harmful impact of the tobacco industry on the environment is vast and growing adding unnecessary pressure to our planet’s already scarce resources and fragile ecosystems. Tobacco kills over 8 million people every year and destroys our environment, further harming human health, through the cultivation, production, distribution, consumption, and post-consumer waste. The tobacco industry’s annual greenhouse gas emissions are equivalent to 84 million tons of carbon dioxide, which exacerbates climate change, reduces climate resilience, wastes resources and destroys ecosystems. Besides, approximately 3.5 million hectares of land are destroyed each year by tobacco cultivation. Tobacco cultivation leads to deforestation, especially in developing countries. Deforestation for tobacco cultivation contributes to soil degradation and reduces the ability of the land to support the growth of other crops or vegetation. With about 90% of tobacco production concentrated in developing countries, the impact of tobacco on different socioeconomic groups is highly uneven. In low- and middle-income countries, many farmers and government officials view tobacco as a cash crop that can generate economic growth, but the short-term cash benefits of the crop are completely offset by the long-term consequences of increased food insecurity, often persistent indebtedness of farmers, disease and poverty, and widespread environmental damage in low- and middle-income countries. The tobacco industry also invests heavily in “green-washing” its environmentally damaging practices, including reporting environmental impacts and funding corporate social responsibility programs and organizations in the environmental field. Their smokescreen does work due to a lack of objective data and limited and inconsistent legislation at the international and local levels. It is of great need to identify tobacco consumption reduction as a key lever for achieving all of the Sustainable Development Goals. Therefore the World No Tobacco Day campaign calls on governments and policymakers to step up legislation, including implementing and strengthening existing programs to hold producers accountable for the environmental and economic costs of tobacco product waste.
The Reasons for Baby's Crying

The Reasons for Baby's Crying

Crying is a baby's instinctive reaction, and babies often express their needs via crying. There are two main reasons for baby's crying, one is a normal physiological reaction, which is called non-pathological crying; the other one is caused by disease, called pathological crying. Reasons for Non-pathological Crying Multiple factors may lead to non-pathological crying, such as the baby feels hungry or thirsty; the diaper gets wet; the baby wants to sleep, etc. It is relatively easy to distinguish such a situation. Generally, when the baby's needs are met, the crying will stop, and the duration of crying will not exceed half an hour. Specifically, the reasons for non-pathological crying are listed as follows. (1) Hunger This kind of crying is mostly before breastfeeding, the baby cries mostly for a long time and shows impatience, his/her head keeps tilting to the sides looking for something, and mouth makes sucking movements. If the mother picks up the baby at this time, he/she will arch the head towards the mother's chest. (2) Thirst Babies with hoarse cries and dry-looking lips and mouths mostly occur after excessive sweating in the summer, dry outdoors in autumn, and after sweating due to excessive clothing in winter. (3) Coldness The baby's face is slightly pale, the body is curled up, and likes to shrink to a warm place when he/she cries.  (4) Heat The baby's face is flushed, there is a lot of sweat on the forehead or in the blanket, and the palms of the hands and feet may become cool because of a lot of sweating. (5) Sleepiness or Tiredness When babies are sleepy or tired, their cries are low without tears, and they do not move their hands and feet as much as usual and close their eyes from time to time. Some babies have their own sleep signals, such as rubbing their eyes, scratching their ears, etc. (6) Wet Diaper The babies' crying is smooth and elongated in tone, and they stop crying as if it remembers something and then cries again, probably because the wet diaper makes the baby uncomfortable.
International Nurses Day

International Nurses Day

International Nurses Day (IND) is celebrated around the world on 12 May each year in memory of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing education. In 1912, in order to commemorate Nightingale’s contribution to nursing, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) designated her birthday May 12 as the International Nurses Day. Its basic purpose is to advocate, inherit and carry forward Nightingale’s humanitarian spirit of fearlessness, dedication, healing the wounded and rescuing the dying. The international Nurses Day aims to encourage nurses to inherit and carry forward the glorious tradition of nursing, treat every patient with “love, patience, carefulness and responsibility”. The International Council of Nurses has released the theme for International Nurses Day 2022, that is “Nurses: A Voice to Lead——Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health”. Dr Pamela Cipriano, President of ICN, noted that “Nurses have the right to work in a safe environment, free from abuse and violence. They have the right to have access to vaccines and personal protective equipment, the right to adequate pay and mental health support. ICN supports nurses’ rights and calls on governments to fulfil their obligations to respect and protect human rights, and to adopt and uphold legislation to ensure equal access to healthcare, vaccines and protection, not only within their own countries, but worldwide.” The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the shortcomings of under-investment in health systems on a global scale. The theme of International Nursing Day 2022 aims to increase investment in nursing, build a resilient, high-quality nursing workforce, protect nurses’ rights and promote health system transformation to meet the health needs of individuals and communities now and in the future.
Whether Diapers Cause O-shaped Legs in Babies

Whether Diapers Cause O-shaped Legs in Babies

O-shaped legs are very common in babies, especially the newborns. When changing diapers for babies, parents will find that even if the baby's legs are straightened, they still turn out to O-shaped legs after loosening. For this reason, many parents suspect that the baby's O-shaped legs are caused by wearing diapers. Therefore, it is of great need to figure out the cause and treatment for O-shaped legs in babies. 1. Why Do Babies Get O-shaped Legs? Many parents worry that the baby's O-shaped legs result from the deformity of leg bone development, but in fact, it is a normal phenomenon in the process of lower limb bone development. Because babies stay in the mother's stomach for a long time before birth, they are wrapped in a small space by the uterus and their legs cannot be straightened. Therefore, their legs will still keep bending posture after birth. 2. How Old Will Babies' O-shaped Legs Become Straight? Under normal circumstances, most babies' legs will slowly straighten naturally with age, and their O-shaped legs will turn to straight gradually around 3 years old. After the age of 7 or 8, the legs develop into straight legs and the leg shape is basically formed. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (APP) study, the development of baby's legs will leg will roughly experience the following process: (1) Before the age of 2: babies are basically O-legged, but the outward leg shape will gradually improve; (2) Around 3 years old: most babies learn to walk at the stage, and the O-shaped legs will disappear completely; (3) Between the ages of 3 and 6: some children may become X-shaped legs in the process of walking; (4) After 7~8 years old: most of them will develop straight legs and the leg shape will be basically formed, some babies may become straight slowly around 9 or 10 years old. 3. Do Babies' O-shaped Legs Need to Be Corrected? As mentioned above, it is possible for a baby's leg to become O-shaped or X-shaped in the process of developing from O-shaped legs to straight legs. The APP notes that these changes are within the normal range and no intervention is necessary. Even if intervention and correction is done, it will not only play a small role, but may also hinder the development of cartilage tissue in the children's legs, and even bring negative emotional pressure to children, affecting their physical and mental health. To sum up, wearing diapers will not cause babies' O-shaped legs, and it can be seen that O-shaped legs are normal phenomenon during children's growth, hence there is no need for parents to correct them intentionally.

World Earth Day

World Earth Day

Today is the 53rd World Earth Day, with the theme of Invest in Our Planet. As is known to all, Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally, including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The first Earth Day was focused on the United States. Denis Hayes, the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international and organized events in 141 nations, which aims to arouse the general public’s awareness of caring for the earth and protecting their homeland, promoting the coordinated development of resource development and environmental protection, and then improving the overall environment of the earth. In present times, when the dangers of climate change and global warming loom as large as ever, there is a constant pressure upon the entire world to do their bit and contribute towards the betterment of our home planet. Why? Because there is only one Earth.  Therefore, it is of great significance for all the human beings to make every effort to protect the environment and save the only earth. Switching off the lights is one of the most common things that people do whenever Earth Day rolls around, In addition to turning off the lights, we can also do many trial things to protect our only planet in our daily life. For instance, planting more trees means cutting down and reducing the carbon footprint and spread of greenhouse gases; travelling via public transport is the better option than private cars for less emission; purchasing environmental-friendly daily necessities, such as AIWIBI Bamboo Baby Diapers and AIWIBI Bamboo Baby Wet Wipes. However, Earth Day is not just an event to be celebrated on one specific day. It is primarily a reminder for all to do our rightful duty that will improve your surroundings to make the planet a better place to live in. Earth Day is a motivation for you to start right now, and always remember that every step, every initiative counts.
